| CHAPTER OFFICER ENDURES SETBACK |
If you were wondering what is going on with the Northeast Chapter...when is our next meeting...aren't we doing anything...is there a Northeast Chapter? The following should explain what has happened this summer. In July, our new Chapter Officers assumed their positions. Our new Chapter President, Tom Zuzik of Artistic Railings, and recently recovered from heart surgery was preparing our upcoming calendar. However, Tom had a relapse and underwent emergency triple bypass surgery successfully.
Tom is doing well and resting at home. He is expected to be back to his old self soon. Sharon Picard, South Attleboro Welding, is our new Vice President. She has been in contact with Tom and together they will be devising up our Chapter direction for the upcoming year. Check out the meetings page for updates.
Shortly we should be setting up our full season calendar for meetings and events. There will always be a four week notice given before any Chapter meeting and/or event will take place. This will allow ample time for interested parties to free time up to attend Chapter events.

| metalfab 2004 - chapter project |
With about 6 months before METALfab 2004, here is a call for a Chapter Project. As a Chapter, we could come up with a plan to fabricate a object for the National Education Foundation to auction off to the highest bidder.
For the sake of conjecture, a portion of one meeting could be to come up with an idea and plan to build possible a glass topped coffee table and matching end tables. The next meeting could involve the fabrication of the table bases by attending Chapter members. The finishing of the tables at the third meeting using Chapter members' expertise on different finishes. As a Chapter we could ship the items to the convention and be proud of our accomplishments.
We also can document the process not only with our website, but also with a article prepared for publication in the Fabricator magazine.
