Specification Charts for Metal Finishing

Our goal is to educate architects and metalworkers to work in harmony discussing, designing and specifying exactly the material required to the industry's standards.  The intent of these Charts is to encourage the metal working community to speak and comprehend the same language in forging our world into a better place.

In this section metal working information can be found concerning:

Summary of typical aluminum finishes

Summary of typical copper alloy finishes [take note that Bronze, Nickel-Silver and Brass are copper alloys]

Summary of typical stainless steel finishes

Specifications for US Standard Designations [example would be what a "US10B" finish actually is]

HomePage

These downloads feature a synopsis of information on finishes commonly used on architectural metals. An example would be specifying stainless steel with a #4 finish would mean the metal would be polished with a 180 grit in one direction.
